  • Q and A (Tuesday, September 22, 2020)
Q:  My concern as a principal is will there be enough custodial staffing to sanitize the entire school campus on a regular schedule when we have full school reopening.  My school is a BSS III site and only has one Crewleader and one custodian with over 70 thousand square feet, 46 classrooms, lots of restrooms and about 60 staff members, so how does the work of COVID-19 cleaning get done to keep everyone safe?
A:  (Answer provided by the District)  We know this will be challenging and we are continuing to look at ways to optimize custodial support to sites.  As a first step, please look at the Custodial Options Menu that was recently provided to you via email to help prioritize the custodial workload on your site.  Take a hard look at operations on your site and look for custodial tasks that do not need to be performed in the current environment or tasks that are a lower priority and can be performed less frequently or not at all.

Q:  When is the Phase One Appointment Based Instruction scheduled to roll out?  I’m hearing conflicting information.
A:  (Answer provided by AASD)  There will be a meeting of all elementary principals on September 29, where the implementation plan will be shared.  At this time, AASD is told that the anticipated roll out date is October 13 for Appointment Based Instruction.
