  • Q and A (Monday, September 28, 2020)
Q:  Can the district please require that every department have a google phone number to reach a live person? For example, there is no one to answer the SAMS help line and they will only respond to emails. They refuse to call back saying they can’t use their personal phone number. Email responses are slow and often don’t address the question being asked which is not efficient at all.
A:  (Answer provided by the District Executive Leaders)  Executive leaders will provide a list of staff that need google voice to the help desk. These employees would be the ones that have constant communication with schools and do not want to use their personal phone numbers.

  • DISTRICT COMMUNICATIONS
The following communication was sent from the district to principals on September 25:

  • IMPORTANCE OF THE INITIAL ELPAC ASSESSMENT
    • While Governor Newsom recently signed Senate Bill 820 which gives sites a 45-day extension, ELPAC Assessment administration is necessary for student placement and activating appropriate EL services.
    • The extension provides sites time to administer, officially score, and provide results to families/guardians.
    • For questions regarding Initial ELPAC contact:
  • CASE MANAGER ASSIGNMENTS FINALIZED FOR ALLOCATIONS
    • In order to be counted for allocations, students must be enrolled in the school, assigned to a case manager and have a locked IEP.

    • Students must be assigned on the “Case Manager Caseload” to be counted, not the standard caseload.
