  • The following information was sent from Custodial Operations to all BSS’ and POS’:

We need to do another round on employee onsite counts for the County/State report. This information needs to be in our spreadsheet by 2:00pm this Friday (11/20/20). Using the daily information that you have gathered will help you to accomplish this task.

Please note this is intended to be a count of the people who are regularly assigned to a site, and who actually show up to the site. Consider staffing on site for this current week when developing your count. For example:

Teacher A worked on site every day this week count = 1
Teacher B worked on site Mon and Tuesday  count = 1
Teacher C worked from home  count = 0 (not on site)
Office Staff worked 2 hours on Wednesday count = 1
Food service worker on site (food distribution) count = 1
PPO plumber on site for repair count = 0 (not assigned to site)
Custodian assigned to site count = 1
Contractor working on site  count = 0 (not district employee)

The total count should reflect your total district staff (regularly staffed at site) numbers for the week. There is no need to include student count or visiting district staff members (e.g. maintenance etc.). According to the example above, the total count would be 5 staff for the entire week. As stated, staff names and positions are not required, just a total count. A typical response email on Friday would look like this:

Madison High = 13 staff for the week of 11/20/20

Please do your best to capture the data; this is not an exact science. Discuss with your site administrator if you have questions.

Below is the language on the count from the County report:
    Employees
The number of school/district employees who are regularly scheduled to work in person on a school site for any portion of their assignment. This total represents individuals, not full-time equivalents, and does not include substitute employees unless they are covering a vacant position, employees of contracted providers, or volunteers.
Each employee is counted only once, at the site where they work the most hours.
    Onsite at a school
This includes employees who are scheduled to be physically present/work on a school campus for any portion of their assignment, regardless of if students are physically present at the school. Employees who work at non-school facilities such as district offices, professional development centers, or maintenance facilities, are not included.

Please provide your staff numbers every Friday or last working day of the week to your CSS for recording purposes. Sending daily staff numbers is not needed, but will help you in accounting staff numbers for the entire week. Thank you for your effort and diligence in accomplishing this task. Your flexibility and willingness to adhere to these new guidelines is much appreciated!

    Respectfully,
    Ron Dare
    Custodial Operations Program Supervisor
