DAILY UPDATE #168 -- 12/01/2020

  • NEW ITEMS

  • Q and A (Tuesday, December 1, 2020)
Q:  It appears that all classroom teachers will be provided two air purifiers, but will administrators and office staff also be provided one for their work spaces/offices?
A:  (Answer provided by the District)  Yes, when spaces are shared by multiple people the same things apply: run the HVAC, open doors and windows, and run air purifiers.  Scale similar to a classroom - if the office is approximately half the size of the classroom, one air purifier should suffice.

Q:  AASD classified supervisors are allowed to work from home if possible. I am a BSS III and I understand I cannot permanently work from home. If I am only needed for a few hours onsite some days, can I essentially work the rest of the day from home?
Q:  Can BSS III’s or POS’ work partially from home?  If not, why not?
Q:  It is my understanding according to AASD agreement that AASD members/supervisors are allowed to work from home if possible. While I know it is not possible for a BSS III or POS to work entirely from home, some days my presence is not needed for the total 8 hours as my custodial staff is onsite.  I can work a couple hours from home working on paperwork/computer ordering/etc., correct?
A:   (Answer provided by the District)    The BSS/POS is expected to work on-site, supervising the custodial crew and carrying out custodial work.  If daily custodial tasks are being accomplished and there is available custodial time, the BSS/POS should be identifying, directing and carrying out deep cleaning projects with the balance of available time.

  • CUSTODIAL UPDATE - SECURE SITE KEYS
    • PPO sent an email this morning to BSS/POS regarding the importance of collecting keys from retiring employees. Considering some of these employees may choose to use vacation/sick leave before the end of the month.
    • Securing keys helps with keeping the integrity and security of our sites. For example, a lot of time and money has been spent to rekey buildings and address our gate systems. If we cannot account for the keys over time this money is considered a loss.
    • Be sure to ask for all gate keys and any miscellaneous keys that belong to the district.
    • Any questions, please contact Ron Dare
