- Q and A (Wednesday, March 10, 2021)
Q: Has AASD been asked to appoint Principals to a feedback group to provide guidance regarding returning to school on April 12?
A: (Answer provided by AASD) There is a group of 14 principals that were selected by the District to participate in a work group with SDEA members to provide recommendations about the instructional program (that are now being bargained). The principals in the work group were not appointed by AASD but rather selected by the District. AASD is sure that those principals selected did a great job representing their colleagues. But to be clear, the principals were district-selected, not AASD-appointed.
- VACCINATIONS
School district employees should use this link to sign up for vaccinations. AASD encourages all school district employees to become vaccinated ASAP.

Information from the District today regarding student teachers and other “contractors” that come on site, but do not have an employee ID number – they will not be able to sign up via VEBA for the vaccination, but should sign up via the San Diego County system and indicate they are a school district educator. They will need a letter from their employer or college confirming such.
- AASD BARGAINING UPDATE
AASD is in bargaining with the district regarding restarting in-person instruction. AASD presented the district with the proposal below earlier this week. AASD has not yet received a response. AASD thanks the members of the AASD bargaining team for their dedication and commitment.

- WEEKLY “OFFICE HOURS” MEETINGS FOR PRINCIPALS AND VICE PRINCIPALS REGARDING PHASE TWO REOPENING ON APRIL 12
Today began a series of weekly meetings to help site administrators plan for reopening on April 12. AASD highly encourages all principals and vice principals and other key school site leaders to attend these voluntary meetings. There will be a lot of valuable information presented at these meetings. AASD was told that these meetings are being recorded and links will be sent out in the event a site leader has to miss a meeting.
