- THE DISTRICT AND SDEA REACH A TENTATIVE AGREEMENT ON REOPENING SCHOOLS (APRIL 12)
All employees likely received an e-mail on Sunday with the four tentative agreements made between SDUSD and SDEA. There are meetings on Tuesday with school site administrators to discuss implementation. AASD does not have any more information to share other than the actual tentative agreements.
April 12 is the target date for reopening. AASD will be entering into bargaining the impacts and effects of the reopening.

- FINDING JOY, HOPE & GRATITUDE DURING A PANDEMIC
As part of our monthly Staff Wellness Webinar series to support the health and well-being of all SDUSD employees, our District Wellness Council, in collaboration with Kaiser Educational Theatre, invites you to a 30-minute wellness webinar. Here is a flyer with details and registration for multiple times on March 24 & 25. Learn about easy tools and resources for managing stress and accessing the good during uncertain times. This session will be recorded and posted on the Nursing & Wellness website.
- OPERATIONS MEETING - REMINDER

- PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES - UPDATE
- Please note the following revision:
- On designated parent/teacher conference days for your site, the synchronous instruction time may be adjusted to 120 minutes to allow for additional time for teacher and parent to meet.
- FOOD SERVICES: FOOD BOXES AT SELECT CURBSIDE GRAB N’ GO MEAL LOCATIONS
- Extra grocery items available (while supplies last) at select schools on a rotating basis. Check the schedule for grocery distributions for next week - Grocery Item Schedule for Week of 3/15-3/19
- District partners, Last Mile, will also be giving away free PPE items for families in addition to school meals and grocery food items at Zamorano Elementary on Monday 3/15.

- End Of Course Exam Reminder for Quarter 3 communication will be sent out on March 12th, 2021, the testing window is March 22nd – April 9th.

- NEW! INTRODUCING: STATE SEAL OF CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
- Please share with your high school juniors and seniors!
- In September of 2020, the State of California put forth criteria and guidance for high school juniors and seniors who have demonstrated "excellence in civics education and participation, and an understanding of the United States Constitution, the California Constitution, and the democratic system of government" to earn the The State Seal of Civic Engagement (source).
- Students who meet the criteria will receive a special Seal of Civic Engagement on their high school diploma as a symbol of commitment and accomplishment.
- To earn the seal, students can follow the instructions on the SDUSD Seal of Civic Engagement Website. Deadlines are approaching quickly.
- SD ENHANCED MATH SECONDARY INTEREST MEETING FOR 2020-21
- Site administrators with their invited math educator(s) are invited to our March 24th, 2-3:30 pm SDEM Interest Meeting. Come learn about how your site can join SDEM in our expanded core course sequence and the professional learning for educators and administrators in our plans for 2021-22.

- REMINDERS
- AASD/DISTRICT "HOTLINE" INFORMATION
The hotline established with the District is available to AASD unit members and other management who are charged with enforcing the health and safety policies and procedures. Call the hotline when you need immediate assistance when conflicts arise, clarification is needed, or decisions must be made regarding health and safety matters.
This hotline is for ALL AASD represented members, both classified and certificated. The hotline phone number is (619) 981-0760. The hotline is available on all District workdays, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. In the rare event that a message must be left, all calls will be returned promptly, within the same day.
- AASD OFFICE CLOSURE
AASD will be sending out a Daily Update, Monday-Friday, throughout the return to instruction/school reopening period. The Weekly Update will continue as usual on Thursdays with the typical news and information for AASD members. The AASD Office continues to remain closed. AASD staff are working remotely and can be reached via the contact information at the end of this Update.
AASD has created a Google Form for AASD Members to report issues, questions or concerns regarding work-related issues, COVID-19, return to instruction and school reopening. AASD will provide answers to issues, questions or concerns submitted as answers become available. You may also share your gratitude for another AASD member, district personnel, etc., via the same link.
