CERTIFICATED
WORKLOAD
WORK GROUP
MET ON
OCTOBER
27
The AASD
Certificated
Workload Work Group
met with the
district team (led
by Chief of Staff
Sofia Roditti) on
October 27.
Thank you to
all AASD
certificated members
who completed the
workload survey in
early October.
Your input was
valuable and was
shared by Chief of
Staff Roditti with
all executive
leaders.
Solutions were
brainstormed and
some traction was
made in the
following areas:
•
Decisions have
been made by
District Executive
Leadership regarding
the timecards for
administrator
additional pay for
working outside of
the regular work
hours (due to COVID
related duties
during the regular
work day).
Please
understand that this
agreement for
payment was NOT a
bargained
agreement. See
the Principals
Update
on November 3rd for
information.
•
Chief of Staff
Roditti met last
week with the entire
Executive Leadership
team and they all
reviewed the survey
and will be taking
it in chunks to see
what can be done to
mitigate
workload.
•
The upcoming
Institute
was changed
from 8 hours to 4
hours.
•
Changes are
forthcoming to the
Principal’s Update
to make it easier to
read (i.e., section
for action items,
section for FYI);
always a contact
person’s name and
notice if the
information in the
Principal’s Update
has been
disseminated
separately to others
so principals don’t
spend time
forwarding an item
to a staff member
who has already
received it.
•
Executive
Leadership is
meeting regarding
the day after
Veterans Day
(Friday, Nov 12) due
to concerns about
potential large
numbers of staff
absences. They
are considering
options.
•
There is
ongoing
communication with
the Area
Superintendents
about communication
with principals and
site visits and ways
to “not stress the
principal out” about
site visits,
etc.
•
Susan
Barndollar and the
nursing staff
continue to work on
COVID related
strategies to take
some of the workload
off site
administrators.
The Executive
Leadership team will
be looking at other
strategies to
mitigate
administrator
workload.

THE AASD

has been asked to
publish the job

AASD also suggests
that all applicants

their calendars to

way, you will not
miss out on a

interested in (as
all jobs in the AASD

who took on so many
of us in the throes
of SPSA, as we were

helpful, and super
responsive!!
Not only that, but
he is HILARIOUS, and
as a bonus, knows
all the special days

Much
appreciation,
Fred. I could
not have done it
without
you!!”
CONDOLENCES AASD acknowledges
