From District Executive Leadership:
Thanks to you, Donis, and the AASD officers who helped us understand the concerns related to teacher evaluation. Next steps are:
- Area Superintendents will be adding the topic of E3 to office hours this week for those who need clarification.
- The language used in the training was adjusted right away this past week.
- We created a chart to help clarify information for both principals and educators who are on cycle.
- After office hours are held in each area next week, we plan to issue a clarification in the principals and educator’s updates.

- SPECIAL GRATITUDE
If an AASD member has a department or individual that deserves special recognition during this time of crisis, please use the link below for reporting issues/questions/concerns/gratitude to show your gratitude for the department or individual. AASD will publish that special thanks in our next Daily Update.
Member in Good Standing, Scott Irwin, shares the following gratitude:
” I would like to thank Mary Wager, Human Resources Officer, for promptly responding to emails and phone calls and providing clarity to the variety of questions I have regarding staffing and HR in general. Her efforts have a direct impact the quality of instruction at my site.”
“I would like to thank Nicole DeWitt, Instructional Support Officer, for being responsive to emails and providing context and clarity to decisions that have been made.”
“I would like to thank Graham Hellewell (PowerSchool Team) and Toren Allen, Executive Director, IT, for developing a creative approach to automating the process of inputting redundant data (i.e identifying holidays and sections associated with quarters that are not currently occurring as non-instructional days) in the weekly engagement log. I would also like to thank Bruce Bivins, Area Superintendent, for helping to advocate for this solution.”
“I would like to thank Lamont Jackson, Area Superintendent, for championing the concept of centralizing the distribution of PowerSchool Parent Portal login information to parents. This pilot project is still in the beginning stages at this point and a few details are being worked out, but progress has been made and a core group of pilot schools have successfully had their parent account information electronically distributed for them. Lamont played an instrumental role in helping this concept become a reality. His efforts to automate the process of keeping parents in the loop regarding their child's grades, attendance, and assignments will save our schools time, energy, and resources.”
