  • SDUSD SUPERINTENDENT CINDY MARTEN NOMINATED FOR DEPUTY SECRETARY OF EDUCATION; INTERIM SUPERINTENDENT LAMONT JACKSON APPOINTED
The AASD Executive Board sends our sincere congratulations to Superintendent Marten on the nomination for this prestigious position by the Biden/Harris administration.  What an honor to have OUR SDUSD Superintendent in Washington DC advocating for children!  Congratulations, Cindy!   We all wish you the best as you take on this new challenge.

AASD fully supports the appointment by the Board of Education of Dr. Lamont Jackson to the position of Interim Superintendent.  Dr. Jackson is well known to AASD and has been a true collaborator and, as a former site administrator, understands the needs of our members.  We are pleased with the appointment for the 2021 calendar year as AASD believes the District needs the continuity as we work through the COVID crisis.   AASD looks forward to being a partner in the superintendent selection process that is transparent and fair and that results in a SDUSD Superintendent who is trustworthy, kind, compassionate, advocates for students and staff and is a true equity leader.
