DAILY UPDATE #248 -- 4/21/2021
- NEW ITEMS
- Q and A (Wednesday, April 21, 2021)
Q: Summer School - with schools opening April 12th and all that goes into ensuring a safe 8 weeks of instruction, we are also being tasked with getting ready for summer school. Since the district has the reports of eligible students, they should be sending out the emails and google docs and then registering students. All staff including office will be covering drop-off, dismissal, lunch, and supporting in classrooms for simultaneous learning. The Powerschool training occurred during the busy week of preparation and again during the first week back. The timeframe to turn this around is unrealistic. Parents and staff are all currently fielding messages regarding return to site. Adding messaging around summer experience is overwhelming for both. This needs to be a centralized effort at this point in time.
A: (Answer provided by the district) Plans for the Summer Experience are well underway and will continue to move forward to meet contractual deadlines and to have all the pieces in place for a successful student experience. The Principal Operations meeting on April 19th covered important information and more is posted in the Principal Update including assistance in tagging students. Jen Roberson is conducting office hours and at least one other meeting will be held in May. Questions: Contact email@example.com or Lisa Sheldon firstname.lastname@example.org.
