CLASSIFIED TENTATIVE AGREEMENT RATIFIED FOLLOWING “RE-VOTE.” The 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 Classified Tentative Agreement for a 3-year collective bargaining agreement, with an improvement to the Longevity Stipend Language for AASD classified members making less than $100,000 annually, passed with 100% of the voters casting a “YES” ballot. Next steps are that both the Classified and Certificated tentative agreements will be on the July 11 Board of Education agenda for approval. The 15% raise will be reflected on the end of July paycheck. We are still hopeful that the retro will be paid sometime in August. More information will be forthcoming.

AASD SUPPORTS OUR MEMBERS. Read below for an example of how AASD serves our members.
AASD provides opportunities for members to enjoy some fun! Our annual Summerfest was held June 23 and over 260 members attended. Our newly retired members were honored at the event by being presented with the traditional AASD retirement clock. Fourteen AASD Distinguished Leaders were honored for their commitment and service to AASD and SDUSD. Summerfest was a success and is a great way for our members to relax and network with colleagues. A fun time was had by all!
This is another example of what AASD does to support our members. If you need assistance from AASD, please contact the office at 619-295-2118 or e-mail the Executive Director, Donis Coronel, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
JOB POSTINGS FOR CERTIFICATED POSITIONS AND CLASSIFIED POSITIONS IN THE AASD UNIT AASD has been asked to publish the job postings in our Weekly Update. AASD also suggests that all applicants (classified and certificated) mark their calendars to check weekly for new job postings each Monday. This way, you will not miss out on a posting you might be interested in (as all jobs in the AASD unit must be posted for 10 days).
SPECIAL GRATITUDE When members wish to show their gratitude for other district staff, please contact Donis Coronel at email@example.com and AASD will publish that message of gratitude in the next Weekly Update.
CONDOLENCES AASD acknowledges deaths of our members, retirees, or their immediate family members via the Weekly Update. If you have information on a death to be reported in the AASD Weekly Update, please contact any of the staff at the AASD office with the information. We appreciate your help with this – we don’t always know right away when a death has occurred or the information on services.
FOR PRINCIPALS AND OTHER AASD REPRESENTED CERTIFICATED MEMBERS WHO ATTENDED OR WILL BE ATTENDING THE DELOITTE “COURAGEOUS LEADERS” TRAINING. AASD and the District have reached an Agreement for AASD certificated members who attended the Deloitte Training in 2022-23 or will attend during 2023-24. All who attended will receive two (2) additional PPI days which must be used prior to June 30, 2024. Those days are NOT currently included in your PPI balance on record and do NOT affect your ability to roll-over up to eight PPI days on June 30, 2023. Details are being worked out, but when you request to use PPI, if you are using a “Deloitte” day, AASD suggests writing that in large letters on the request form. Those who attended Deloitte in February 2023 attended on a holiday so those attendees are receiving three (3) PPI days instead of two (2) PPI days. The June 30, 2024 deadline to use these days applies to all who attend Deloitte whether in 2022-23 or Fall 2023-24. The Agreement goes to the Board of Education for approval on July 11. Certificated MOU, Deloitte Leadership Training
AGREEMENT REACHED REGARDING HOLIDAY PAY FOR PRINCIPALS AND ASSOCIATE PRINCIPALS WHO WORKED CIF PLAYOFFS. The MOU that AASD negotiated will be going to the Board of Education on July 11. Principals and AP’s who worked CIF playoffs, and reported their time to AASD, will be paid for the time they worked. Once it is approved by the Board of Education, the MOU will go to Payroll for payment. MOU/Agreement, Certificated, Work Performed Outside of Duties or Hours
