Donis Coronel

President of AASD

Donis is the President of AASD and is on full-time release from SDUSD to work at the AASD offices as both President and Executive Director. Her career with SDUSD began 37 years ago with the bulk of her time spent in Labor Relations and Human Resources (20 years). Donis has been a member of AASD since 1990 and has served in various capacities over the years – Board of Directors, Executive Board, Secretary/Treasurer, many committees, and now President. Donis is married to Rick Coronel who is retired after 25 years of service to Sea World. Their blended family includes five adult children and one son-in-law. Oldest son, Kevin (33), daughter, Kim (31), son-in-law Shawn (33), daughter, Christina (26) all work in Special Education for SDUSD. Daughter, Trish (29) is applying for the Nursing program and also works for Kaiser Permanente. Son, Joe, is a 2014 UCSD graduate and works for Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez . Donis and Rick are blessed with a one-year old granddaughter, Aubree Elizabeth, who is the apple of their eye. Donis and Rick also have a very spoiled dog (Oliver) and three kitties (Jack, Max and Rocky). Donis’ hobbies include planning events for, and spending time with, family and friends, and she and Rick also enjoy traveling — near or far! Serving the members of AASD is Donis’ dream job!
Linda Crout-Hamel

Linda Crout-Hamel is the AASD Office Manager. In 1978, Linda joined the U.S. Navy to see the world! During her assignment in Hawaii (1981-84), she met a Navy man who would eventually become her husband (Andy, 1984). They began their life in San Diego when Andy was stationed at SEAL Team 3 in Coronado. Linda’s first job with San Diego Unified began in 1996 when she was the Parent Volunteer Coordinator at Zamorano Fine Arts Academy. She next worked as the School General Secretary at Dingeman Elementary for the 2001-02 school year. She left Dingeman to begin her career at AASD in August 2002. Linda and Andy have two daughters, Sarah and Ashley, who both graduated from SCPA (the School of Creative and Performing Arts) in 2006 and 2009. Linda loves animals, especially her two little dogs, Capt. Morgan and Sophie. In her spare time, she enjoys scrapbooking and the comradery/sisterhood of her part-time jewelry business.
