AASD provided 204 homework bags and school supply kits to TK and Kindergarten students at the following schools this year: Edison, Jones, and Rowan Elementary Schools. The drawstring backpack is filled with all the supplies students need to complete their homework at home. The funds for the kits come from money raised in the 50/50 raffles at Summerfest and Winterfest. Thank you to the AASD Member Relations Committee (MRC) for overseeing the selection of the schools and to the following MRC Members and Board of Directors member for volunteering to assemble the bags: Troy Hickey (MRC Co-Chair); Matt Fleming (B of D Member); Peter Johnson (MRC Committee Member) and Amy Perez (MRC Committee Member). Also, a big thank you to UASC/AASD Office Manager, Linda Crout-Hamel, for coordinating the purchase of the supplies and to UASC/AASD Membership Coordinator, Patti Burch, for helping to prepare the supplies for the bags. An extra thank you to Troy Hickey for delivering the bags to the three schools.
