FOURTH OF JULY MESSAGE FROM THE AASD BOARD OF DIRECTORS.  As we celebrate the Fourth of July and mark the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding, we reflect on the ideals of freedom, democracy, and opportunity that have shaped our country. This milestone is not only a time to honor our history, but also to recognize the working people whose dedication and hard work have built and sustained America for generations.  Our union members embody the values that strengthen our communities every day—commitment, skill, solidarity, and service. From educating students to be future leaders to building our infrastructure and powering our industries to supporting families and local economies, your contributions make a lasting difference.  The progress we have achieved together has always come through unity, determination, and a shared commitment to ensuring that every worker has the opportunity to earn fair wages, work safely, and be treated with dignity and respect. Those principles remain as important today as they were throughout our nation’s history.  As we gather with family and friends to celebrate Independence Day, we extend our sincere gratitude to each of you for your hard work, your dedication to public education, and your commitment to standing together.  On behalf of the AASD Board of Directors, we wish you and your loved ones a safe, happy, and memorable Fourth of July.  Happy Independence Day, and here’s to continuing to build a stronger future together.  The UASC/AASD office will be closed on Friday, July 3 in observance of the holiday.
